Has anyone been to the Venice Lagoon Raid?

Despite a love of Italian food for more years than I care to admit to, I have never been to Italy. This event would kill two stones with one Swallow.

I am looking to 2016 as the 2015 diary is filling up fast!

This U tube clip may be of interest. It is from the 2014 raid and shows at least one BR20.

I recognised many boats in that clip. Looks wonderful. I presume that one of teh interviewees was Claus Riepe?

I have found a second You Tube video of the 2014 event.

In response to an email enquiry I was told that there wont be a 2015 Velaraid. I  have asked about the possibility of a 2016 Velaraid and I am awaiting a reply.

David I don't  think I am going to get anymore information on VeLa Raid at this stage. I am on a mailing list of some sort so I will let you know as soon as I hear anything.

It looks like the next VeLa Raid Classic is in 2016 but no dates yet. and no definite confirmation. There may be a VeLa Raid Picinin in 2015 which is held on two consectutive weekends in June a 2+2 format but I cant find any definite dates.

For Facebook users there is a Facebook page with a lot of photos etc

Hello michaeln

Venice is a very attractive area as a sailing and touring venue.
It is one that has passed me by on both counts.

I will watch the event site.
