I hope to sail at Bala one or more days between Sat 15th and Mon 16th April - possibly with a mystery.

It will be a completely informal meeting (i.e. unorganised) - just turn up at Bala town quay, LL23 7SR off the A494.

Is anyone else likely to turn up?

I would like to come too, but I would bank on  Monday 17th being a holiday. I would probably join you for the craic, if not a magical mystery tour.

Hi Graham, John and Andrew would Saturday 15th be OK, assuming you are let off the leash?  If the weather is awful (i.e nil wind) or you prefer I could make Sunday.  Monday might be busy on the roads home but is possible for me if you have no other choice.

Anyone else who might come have any preferences?

Saturday would be fine. My apparently mundane comment was a facetious comment about the missing day in the diary "between Sat 15th  and Mon 16th April" from the original post; Bank Holiday Monday 17th in my diary. No pun unintended.

Matthew,

In theory, I could do any day that bank holiday weekend.

Because it's Easter, they should have raised the lake back up to "amenity level" by then.  Despite the recent rain, the water level is still a long way below what we enjoyed last November and is too low to launch from the public slipway.

Even if there's no wind, I might be tempted out to enjoy my newly-silenced Torqeedo.

Saturday is fine for me.

Thanks

Turaco, Craig and a mystery boat will probably be meeting this Saturday 10.30am-ish at Bala town public slipway. Are any other boats likely to be there? Nothing organised, (no different to normal then) - just turn up.

Yes please, I'll turn up. But, sans Ella, I'll be a mystery crew.

Graham W

The forecast is for sunny intervals, 10-15 knot westerlies and a bit cold.  Rain the night before will top up the lake level but it's already high enough to be launchable and has been all week.

John & Isla Roberts

Hi Graham & Matthew. Sorry, but Isla and I cannot make the rally on Saturday as we are on grand-parenting duties. In any case, Bala sailing club have their Easter Regatta on that day which means the club foreshore will be very crowded making launching our BR20 v difficult. We wish you good winds and a great day! John & Isla.

Matthew P

Sorry you cannot make it John and Isla - grand-parenting is a stern duty.

I expect it will be busy but we will be launching from Bala town quay, LL23 7SR, off the A494 not the sailing club.
