I've booked a table for supper at the Travellers Rest 7pm Saturday 12th Aug, on spec, for 14 people.

Please email me at mpeacock@activeppp.com if you and your party want to join me and Liz for the meal.

Apart from that, I'm launching Gladys at 10am Thursday morning at GSC and will be camping on board until Sunday

We're arriving on Wednesday afternoon also and staying locally with relatives.
Haven't lake sailed for quite a while so looking forward to the challenge.

We will be gracing yourselves with our presence once more, BUT unfortunately without our boat!
We can act as your support group instead.
I booked up some time ago BUT have had problems with getting our Campervan and Boat back from repairers, so time and other stuff is against us.
Anyway we are looking forwards to a nice relaxing time there, before we head up to the farthest north of Scotland for a trip that has been on my bucket list for some time now.

We will be arriving Wed or Thurs at Gillside Camping Site and will be taking the very pleasant walk up to the 'Travelers Rest' as soon as we are sorted.

Jim & Lin, great you are coming. Rest assured we'll get you on the water; plenty of room in Moireach. Let's say see you Thursday morning @ GSC. I'll be rigging, weather permitting...

Thanks for the offer. Still not sure when we will get there - not packed yet so may leave tomorrow am. C U ??

Sue and myself still intending to come along to Ullswater but can't get there until Sunday now as waiting for a broken windscreen to be repaired. Sigh. Hoping to arrive in time to join in with the sailing that day. Will also be there Monday and Tuesday, hoping to have some company though not sure if anyone else will be there still.

Dear All,

Great to meet so many kind folks on our first Swallow outing. Next year I hope we'll be sailing, not motoring. I have included a link to some snaps which I hope will be of interest. Regards Rod and Jan Shiers

Looks like a good time was had by all... What a beautiful place - not a bit like Grimsby!

Rod - I'd be interested in where you launched  'Gracenote' .. ?

Andy and Equinox

Rod Shiers

Hi Andy, We launched Gracenote along with the other boats at the Glenridding Sailing Centre. The guys there were very helpful. Hope you are well. Are you still in Grimsby? I ought to come and visit you. Regards Rod

Andy Dingle

Rod - thanks. I was interested as I used to sail my BR20 from Glenridding when on walking/sailing holidays - but, erroneously it seems, I thought my BC23 was too big to launch there, and I thought perhaps you had used a slip somewhere.
I seem to recall they used a tractor to push me out quite some way over a stony bottom?

Yes, I'm at Grimsby and Cleethorpes Yacht Club (gcyc.co.uk) - I moved in there from the Humber Cruising Association in April.
Proving to be a really great place to sail with the only 24/7 tidal access (I believe) on the east coast between Gt Yarmouth and Whitby. Loads of interesting places to sail to, especially with our lifting keels! (See attached tracks).
You'd be very welcome to have a sail with me.

Regards

Nice photos Adele and John.  It was very pleasing to have the company of so many better-halves, as well as the usual BBWTHs (bearded blokes with Tilly hats).
