The flaps on my outboard well have been damaged and I need to replace them.  Can anyone advise me on:
- Replacement method/procedure
- Materials required and where to buy them

Hi Chris

If your outboard flaps are distorted but not significantly damaged then careful use of a hot-air gun might almost magically restore them.  I would however be cautious of causing damage to surrounding paint and woodwork.

If you need to replace them then suitable material can be obtained from: http://hawkmarineproducts.com/slot.htm

Good luck

Alternatively, you could get rid of the Venetian blinds altogether and make an infill for the outboard well as in this thread https://www.swallowyachtsassociation.org/smf/index.php/topic,843.0.html.  A solid infill is perhaps not quite so convenient in use as the blinds but you would probably reduce turbulence with one in place.
