Can someone help me with confirmation on exactly how the top of the jib attaches to the top swivel and that to the stand off bracket and the halyard.

Why? - on my first outing with a new boat the jib detached itself from the top swivel where it appears to have been lashed and a shackle shed its pin and I omitted to photograph the rig before I started. Yes, even more shackles require mousing and a more substantial lashing is needed.

I am assuming the jib is lashed to the eye at the top of the furler stay below the top swivel. That the stand off triangle bracket has the top eye of the swivel in one corner, the halyard in the other end of the shorter side and the corner on the longer side is then shackled around the forestay.

As with all things explaining a problem makes the solution more obvious, helped by a photograph taken just after the launch by an observer that shows the rigging detail. The problem arose initially from the top swivel lashing coming adrift.

Until someone posts a photo of a BC23 arrangement have a look at the Bayraider 20 manual in the library:

https://www.swallowyachtsassociation.org/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/BayRaider-June2010.pdf

This shows quite clearly the jib head, top swivel with halyard connected. The halyard will pass through a single block which is attached to the tang on the mast then bowline knot or halyard knot to the top of the swivel. The lashing you mentioned should not have come undone, this replaces the white plastic clip you see in the image which goes between the head cringle on the jib and the luff thimble, this ensures the jib furls  around the luff wire.

Your post crossed with mine, confused on lashing to swivel, the swivel normally connects to the luff wire with a substantial pin, the luff wire thimble is lashed to the head cringle as described above.
