Wondering if there are any BR owners in the US interested in a trade plus cash for my 20' Albury Brothers CC?

Graham W

Oceanluvr,

Your quest for a BayRaider intrigues me.

Nearly a year ago, you were looking for a BR17 or BR20 in the UK or Europe.  A puzzling distinction - despite not being in the EU any more, I think the UK is still part of Europe, just.  Claus sent you a very long reply, to which you didn't respond.

Then, while weighing in heavily on the Facebook debate, you announced that you had put down a deposit on a new BayRaider 20.  I hope that you didn't misplace the deposit, as it appears that your search continues.  Or perhaps you're assembling a fleet on two continents, as you're now offering us this tasty opportunity.  That is, a motor boat not unlike a Kencraft Bay Rider (engine unspecified) located somewhere in the vastness of the USA, plus cash (direction unspecified), in exchange for a BayRaider (model unspecified).

Forgive my scepticism about your slightly off-kilter posts.  Where are you actually based and how's the sailing over there?  If you're in North America, as your IP address suggests, you seem to keep odd hours.  And you do know that BayRaiders are sailing boats, don't you?

Graham, I had to count to 100 before responding to your query!  But now that I have calmed down, thanks to a few glasses of Prosecco, allow me to provide the details.  Yes, my son and I purchased a BR20, and it is currently being built with a spring delivery.   The build sheet from Swallow is attached to this message for your review.   It will be based in Copenhagen, where my son lives.  Pre-covid, we intended that the boat would spend late spring to early fall in Denmark and then the winter in Southern Italy.  Since life has thrown a few curve balls at everyone, I am now in Florida, where I have a home and have lived for many years. I have an Albury which, if anyone does their homework, will discover that they are one of the finest small powerboats on the market, built to order.  Kencraft do not even come close to the quality of Albury's.  I have one but would rather be sailing while I wait out travel restrictions from the US to the EU, and yes, I know the UK is no longer in the EU.   I am aware that there are probably not many BRs in the US, but why not take a chance and inquire if anyone has one and may not be using it as much as they like for whatever reason.  As for the gentlemen you said sent a long email or message to me, which I never answered, I have no idea what you are talking about, and if he did, then I do not recall ever receiving it.  I would NEVER not reply to someone who took time to answer a question or provide me with information.  If I overlooked it somehow, then I apologize to Claus!

As for my boat's specifics, I will gladly provide all the details and more to anyone who expressed an interest.  As to the 'money,' I assumed most readers would understand that I am willing to pay a fair amount factoring in my boat's value plus cash.  As to the model, well, I intentionally left that open, l posted that message in good faith and there is no scam, and quite frankly, I do not like busybodies!

Glad that you're a real person and that you really are collecting BR's. The vagueness and strange sequencing of your posts made me think that there was something fishy going on, where there clearly is not.  We have had odd stuff from bots on this forum several times in the past.

Claus = Llafurio, who answered your original post at length and to which there was no response, in public at least.  For some reason (although he is more than capable of standing up for himself), his posts have been subject to multiple bot attacks.

I'm sure that Albury's are splendid, if you like motor boats.  They look a lot more like Bay Riders than BayRaiders.
