BayRaider 20, trailer-sailor dayboat for sale, ashore Bosham, Chichester Harbour, West Sussex, UK. £13950

We are parting with the 'Black Pearl' having bought a 29ft yacht for further offshore adventures. She is a fantastic example, fully kitted out, continually maintained since we bought her new, and ready to sail.

In addition to a standard water-ballasted Bayraider 20 set up, a huge list of extras are included:
•   Swallow Yachts fitted Bermundan rigged ketch upgrade: carbon mast, (black, 2016), with corresponding replacement sails, in cream: fully battened Main (2016, excellent condition), Jib (2016, good condition), Mizzen (2016, good condition)
•   Original full Gunter ketch rig including:
o   round hollow wooden mast (an upgrade to the standard square mast,) and tabernacle.

The Black Pearl has been tweaked and modified for easy single-handed sailing and upwind performance.

The asymmetric is flown from a two-piece retractable carbon bowsprit. When extended, the bowsprit is held in place by a line beneath the rear of the foredeck and braced by an adjustable bobstay. The tack line is adjustable and passes through the centre of the hollow bowsprit. The guys come aft to a pair of ratchet blocks and are larks footed through the aft cleats on either side. The head of the sail is hoisted through a violin block that also carries the jib forestay. When not in use, the asymmetric sits under the foredeck in a tethered bucket.

All sheets are brought amidships through a pair of roller organisers and cleated with cam cleats in reach of the helm. The tiller has an extension.

An adjustable jib leach tensioner has been fitted from above the jib to the aft end of the jibboom. This allows more shape in the jib for improved performance, especially in light airs.

Included is a Silva compass and a Garmin GPSMap 556 chartplotter (2010), with original box and unused wiring loom and spare battery. The GPS is loaded with UK charts, and has a spare battery. The transducer is fitted at the front of the centre plate slot providing depth data to a large Clipper readout mounted on the rear edge of the quarterdeck under the spray deck. Power is provided by a 12v battery in secure battery box mounted forward of centre board housing on cockpit sole.

The trailer is an unbraked swinging cradle type as supplied with the boat, which has been regularly serviced. (It does have some red antifoul splashes on it and on the rollers). Overall, the trailer is in very good order with unused new tyres and the wheel bearings have never been submerged.

The ballast tank is filled by a plug 2 forward facing self-bailers and emptied by a 2 self-bailers fitted in a drainage well under the tiller. The water ballast tanks will self empty under sail or engine power in c.10 minutes.

Black Pearl has never suffered any damage other than light scratches in her topsides, which can be polished out or touched up to near imperceptible.

We have had great fun sailing her within Chichester Harbour and on Raids in the Solent, the River Orwell, the Walton Backwaters and holidaying in the West coast of Scotland.

She is ready to sail and ashore at Bosham SC.
