For six weeks now I've been leaving this switch untouched in my new (second-hand) BC23. It's on. Can't find it in the documentation. What's it for? (Top right of the photo.)  Does it keep the boat upright? Or afloat? :)

It looks like the main switch feeding 12V to everything else.  Off will be the middle position, with one of the on positions potentially switching everything on (presumably up, where it is at the moment) and the down position being more selective (or not, depending on how it is wired). One way to find out what the bottom position is for is to get behind the switch and see what the lower lead (if there is one) is attached to.   I installed one very like it on my 12V system and switch it off at the end of the day if I'm leaving the battery on the boat.

It's the switch for the supernova mast head light.
Middle position is off.
Top position is white, bottom position is tri-color (or the other way around).

That makes sense - it's in line with the tricolour light switch on the main panel.

Thanks Martijn! Despite position of switch I think I never would have guessed.
