BR17 Boom End Improvement

The goose-neck end of the BR17 main boom does not have a metal insert.  Mine went out-of-shape over three years' sailing and I was getting concerned that it would eventually wreck the boom.  So this year, I've done something about it.  I bought some large M12 stainless steel washers (£2.82 for a packet of 10 from Screwfix) and made up a plate to screw to the boom end. For "belt and braces" I've also put on an additional layer of shrink tube.  It will hopefully be good for another few years now!  A picture of the repaired boom end is attached.
