I'm on Loch Lomond for a week in my BayCruiser 23. Fickle inland winds and no tides, of course.

Enjoy it Paul
We were there for a week on May and I thought it a brilliant place to sail. I had wondered about it being a rally destination, withe the Rowardennan Lodge on the east shore being a possible base - but didn't get time to investigate the facilites there more fully. There appears to be a range of accommodation there  - youth hostel / hotel / lodges / campsite as well as pontoons etc.

I agree, a great place to sail. No extensive shallows. No tides. But when it's gusty it's very gusty, all those mountains. And when it's calm you're becalmed, no steady sea breeze. I've just this morning got Lunar Blues BC23 out of the water, a day early because of forecast rain, but I had 5 full days on the water hardly stepping ashore save for provisions in Luss, and at an island beach, and for a shower at the very friendly Ardlui Marina. I'll be back.
