I have been reading 'Practical Dinghy Cruiser' by Paul Constantine, who is a stalwart of the Dinghy Cruising Association.  Many members of the DCA own smaller dinghies of elderly design (Wanderers, Wayfarers et al) and Constantine adamantly refuses in his book to discuss newer designs on the grounds that he has not managed to sail them, the designs have not yet stood the passage of time, the builders might not be around in a few years, and so on.

Then, right at the end of the book, he relents.  To quote, "Reluctant as I have been to name a newer, modern boat, if I am pressed, I would suggest that a visit to www.swallowboats.com should point you in the right direction."
