Brilliant!
That's what the boats are for!
Lets have  more videos like this.
Why do some folk think that you have to have a near-death experience before you have anything worth sharing?
"Unexpected Gybe causes beverage malfunction." is as big a tragedy as I can cope with at the moment - and I'm sick of hearing about how some "proper" sailor cleverly avoided drowning his crew as he motored past the Casquets in thick fog at fifteen knots on a falling tide. (Must delete the YBW app.)

Rather conservative choice of headgear, I thought, though.

really great guys. guess any hat is better nothing with all that sun. We don't have to go to such lengths in the UK.

Good to see some of my vintage out there enjoying a day on the water despite the "equipment malfunctions". The Old Gaffers Association of Western Australia "C" Fleet yachts include two Bayraider 20s, a couple of Ness Yawls and a couple of Welsford Navigators. One of the fleet is a keen photographer and has put up some movies of our journeys in and around Perth including the Swan River and also offshore. The link for those interested is http://www.gaffrigsailinginwa.org/videos/ I hope you enjoy videos from the Antipodes.

I enjoyed watching your video's. Great tropical waters. Love that blue water. Not sure I would want to land on that island with all the snakes though.
Looks like the old gaffers is a fun group to sail with.

David,
pleased to see that you enjoyed the videos and photos. Although it may look tropical we are at 32 deg S so pretty much Mediterranean climate and at present 8.7 deg C and top 19 deg C but sunny.

The C Fleet guys will be sailing during winter following a bit of a break after the Old Gaffers Regatta. We are planning another raid, this time probably in the Peel-Harvey estuaries south of Perth. Inland water so should provide rather good sailing but we need to recce the area for courses and a camp or two.

We follow the raids in UK, especially the Caledonia Raid which we are trying to emulate. Problem is trying to get in touch with all of the local blokes who own raid-suitable boats, anyway we will work the grapevine and see what happens.

Enjoy your summer sailing and regards from Oz.
