Hi, I did not want to take over Julian's thread on tyre wear. I am making an adjustment to my trailer set up and am looking for a little advice.
I have a BayRaider 20. I have had the boat for just about a year now and have over 100 sailing hours enjoyed on the boat.
I have a roller at the bow area to take some weight about a quarter of the way down the boat. But would also like to add a roller on the center line, about half way down, to take the weight of the boat.
I will add a couple of photos that show the planned set up.
I completed the set up and put the boat back on the trailer. The roller worked fine. But, I noticed that the roller was being supported? by the center board. At least, it looked that way to me.
So, my question is, Can this cause harm to the boat. It there something, (Like the top of the centerboard case), that is stopping the centerboard from retracting fully? I would not like to arrive for a sail and see the boat sitting pretty on the trailer and the top of the centerboard case popped off!
Here are the pics. Any advice is welcome please.

David.

OK, I see I am not clear on the issue. Funny how it looked fine initially then I discover mangled English in the actual post :)

I should have stated the issue as:- The boat appears to be supported by the centerboard on the roller. Approximately an inch or two protrudes under the hull. It is this that appears to be what the boat is sitting on.

I think that it is probably the other way around - a droopy centreboard is being supported by a keel roller that is too low to support the keel, which is what it ought to be doing. Raise the keel roller so that it supports the keel and any droopiness in the centreboard will also be supported.

Good thought Graham. It was wet and dirty, (they cleaned fish at the spot I parked the trailer at), so I will have to check that. It would a wonderful, easy fix if that is it!

David.
