On Saturday 5th July I'm planning to sail at Bala from the campsite at:

Gwersyll Pant Yr Onnen
Llangower,
Bala,
Gwynedd,
LL23 7BT

Arriving about 10.30 finish about 4pm

Skippers entirely responsible etc etc but if anyone wants to tell me how to sail more safely, faster  etc then I welcome their comments!

I'm just back from Bala, where the wind went from flat calm to gusting SW F6 in about 20 minutes. I decided that I didn't want to risk any more breakages and wimped out. Once I had unreefed and stowed the mainsail, emptied the ballast tank and got the boat back on the trailer, it dropped to an F4.

Unfortunately I can't do this Saturday.

My apologies to anyone who found themselves sailing alone at Bala, unfortunately a family priority prevented me going.  But the weather has been nice so if you did go then I feel envious as well as guilty.

Best wishes to everyone at Weymouth, I hope you have a great time.

We have been to Pant yr Onen twice now and find it an ideal and reasonably priced option for launching / retrieving + camping next to the boat. Midges are the only draw back!
