I'll be coming up to Shropshire with my boat for a few days in the week of 27th July.  Weather permitting, I'll try to sail at least two days at my old stamping ground, Lake Bala, launching from the town slipway.  Anyone who would like to join up for a strictly informal meet would be very welcome.

Good idea Graham, which days are you thinking of?

It depends on the weather but I'm going to aim for two of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Great idea Graham.  We'd like to meet up with you.

I shall aim to join you all. If we can not socially distance, I shall wear the Whales facemask Charlie has custom made for me as seems fit for the occasion.

Andrew,

Craic is usually so far ahead of everyone else that I wouldn't worry about social distancing.  The puns can carry a very long way though.

It looks like Wednesday and Thursday are going to be the best days.  I'll try to be at the town slipway by 10am both days.  See you there!

Hi Graham, I'll join you at Bala on Wed and Thurs this week.

I'll bring Hilda.

I was on Bala for three days in total, joined on the second day by Matthew in his self-built 'Hilda' and Andrew & Charlie in 'Craic'.  It was great to be back on the water after such a long hiatus.  It was gusting up to F6 on the first day, so I sailed under jib and mizzen only.  Day two was gusting F4 on occasion, so the ballast tank was filled.  And day three's wind was low enough to go with full sail and no ballast.

There may be photos of day two on the Facebook page but I'm easily resisting the temptation to roll up my right trouser leg to gain access.

Good to see Graham and Andrew at Bala on Wednesday.

Here are some photos to save Graham from rolling up a trouser leg.

Thank you Matthew for these photos and for not publishing (here anyway) a photo that I think you took of me on the slipway with both trouser legs rolled up.
